The KAYA Menstrual Health Day Engagement, held on June 31st, 2024, at St. Kizito Roman Catholic School in Nima, along with Kotobabi 1 and 2 basic school, featured a powerful session on mental health and menstrual wellness. Hosted by Kosi Yankey-Ayeh, Founder and CEO of the KAYA Women’s Leadership Institute, the event empowered young girls to embrace self-care, advocate for their menstrual health, and take leadership in breaking the stigma around menstruation. Highlighting that menstruation is a natural and healthy part of life, the event included an insightful nurse-led demonstration on best hygiene practices, equipping students with practical knowledge for managing their periods safely. The sessions fostered a supportive environment where girls were not only educated but uplifted to become health advocates in their schools and communities. By the end of the event, the students walked away with the tools and supplies needed to ensure safe and healthy periods.
